The Sports Premium is funding provided by the government to help primary schools improve the quality of physical education (PE), sport and physical activity.

Purpose of the funding

The aim is to make sustainable improvements to the way schools deliver PE and encourage lifelong healthy, active lifestyles.

Schools must use the funding to:

• Increase opportunities for pupils to take part in physical activity

• Raise the profile of PE and sport across the school

• Provide staff with training and resources to improve PE teaching

• Introduce new sports and activities

• Improve facilities and equipment for PE and play

• Develop links with local sports clubs and organisations

How we use the Sports Premium

At Scout Road, we use the funding to:

• Provide specialist sports coaching and extracurricular clubs

• Purchase high-quality PE equipment

• Train staff to deliver engaging PE lessons

• Organise sporting competitions and events

• Promote active play and wellbeing during break times
